Meet the Doctor

 

Shanta D. Richardson, DMD, MPH

 

Dr. Richardson (a.k.a. "Dr. Richie") is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

 

Dr. Richardson grew up in Los Angeles, CA. She received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University, where she majored in Child Psychology. She went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine for her doctorate in dental medicine. While in dental school, she received the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pre-doctoral Student Award for her dedication to improving the oral health of children with special health care needs. Dr. Richardson's background in pediatric oral health care prompted her to go on to Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Children's Hospital - Boston where she received specialty training in pediatric dentistry. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Richardson completed a fellowship in Oral Health Policy at Harvard School of Public Health.
